Impegno inderogabile per The Others è quello di sostenere i giovani talenti e l'arte emergente attraverso la creazione di una nuova rete di professionisti, collezionisti e appassionati, fornendo loro un polo per lo scambio di idee e opportunità, esplorando culture e subculture, puntando sulla ricerca, lo sviluppo creativo e la sperimentazione.

The Others intende promuovere e far conoscere al grande pubblico, giovani e poco note realtà, che investono quotidianamente nella ricerca artistica. Sostenere le prossime generazioni è un imperativo per il nostro futuro.
Professionisti dell'arte, profit e non profit, che lavorano su programmi dedicati agli artisti giovani ed emergenti, si incontreranno a Torino, dal 4 al 6 novembre2011 a Le Nuove, il vecchio carcere situato nel cuore della città.
Gli espositori di The Others sono selezionati da un Comitato composto da Andrea Bruciati, curatore e direttore della Galleria Comunale d'Arte Contemporanea di Monfalcone, Claudio Composti, direttore della Mc2 Gallery, Alessandro Facente, curatore indipendente e Michele Lupi direttore del magazine Rolling Stone.
Le opere d'arte esposte a The Others partecipano all'assegnazione di due Premi per l'arte.
Very smart Award - Nato dalla collaborazione con smart Center Torino e smart, brand che ha fatto della creatività e dell'innovazione i suoi valori di riferimento, il Premio dell'importo di 2.000,00 euro sarà assegnato ad un'opera di piccole dimensioni. L'opera vincitrice sarà selezionata da un comitato, in via di definizione, composto da curatori professionisti. Rolling Stone Award - The Others è rolled by Rolling Stone, ovvero animata, movimentata e sheckerata da Rolling Stone. La rivista cult del panorama musicale internazionale condivide con The Others la passione per la ricerca di talenti e per la creatività emergente e alle opere d'arte esposte a The Others dedica la prima edizione del Rolling Stone Award. Il Premio di 1.500,00 euro
Insieme ai due premi The Others ospita la prima edizione di un programma per artisti in residenza: il BasicNet Residential. L'iniziativa ha lo scopo di sostenere la residenza di un giovane artista al BasicVillage di Torino, una collaborazione creativa e uno scambio reciproco tra l'artista premiato, la città di Torino e le sue istituzioni artistiche.
The Others 2011 è partner di Souvenirs from Earth, prima emittente televisiva via cavo a trasmettere un programma 24/7 di videoarte, cinema, arti visive, musica, installazioni, performance e capace di trasformare lo schermo televisivo in un "art terminal" dedicato ai contenuti più innovativi della cultura artistica contemporanea.
Souvenirs from Earth offre una vetrina TV a tutti i partecipanti di The Others ampliando la loro visibilità tramite il coinvolgimento di un nuovo e più vasto pubblico.
La messa in onda avverrà prima e durante The Others.
Souvenirs from EarthTV viene trasmesso in HD sulle reti TV via cavo francesi e tedesche e via Internet all'indirizzo: www.playtv.fr/television/souvenirs-from-earth. Il programma è dedicato esclusivamente alle arti visive e ha i suoi più grandi fan in Francia, Germania e Corea del Sud.
Gli espositori di The Others potranno caricare da1 a 10 minuti di video o da 10 a 20 fotografie. Il lavoro recherà il nome dell'espositore e dell'artista-autore rappresentato. Molto rolled sarà anche la serata inaugurale del 3 novembre quando a partire dalle ore 21.00 le porte del vecchio carcere sveleranno al pubblico i protagonisti di The Others accolti da una grande festa curata da Rolling Stone con contributi musicali e dj set selezionati dalla redazione.

Rolling Stone Award - Cult journal on the international musical scene Rolling Stone shares with The Others the passion for finding talents and emerging creativity. The Others is rolled by Rolling Stone, or better animated and shaked by Rolling Stone which dedicates to the artworks exhibited at The Others the first edition of Rolling Stone Award. The prize of 1.500,00 euros will be awarded by a jury of professionals and editors and by the magazine's director Michele Lupi.
Moreover The Others hosts the first edition of an artists-in-residence program: the BasicNet Residential which is intended to support the residency of a visual artist of any kind or nationality at BasicVillage in order to foster a creative collaboration and to create mutually beneficial lines of exchange among the artist, the city ofTurin

The TV channel Souvenirs from Earth offers a TV showcase to all the participants of The Others 2011 bringing a new public to this innovative event.
The Others showcase will be screened on the channel during The Others and before the event. Souvenirs from EarthTV is broadcast in HD on French and German cableTV networks and over the Internet: www.playtv.fr/television/souvenirs-from-earth. The program is exclusively dedicated to visual arts and has its largest fanbase inFrance , Germany
The Others exhibitors can submit 1 to 10 minutes of videos or video extracts or 10 to 20 photographs and will be presented with their name and the name of the presented artist.
The Others is rolled by Rolling Stone, driven by smart, fashioned by Jesus Jeans, boosted by Connecting cultures, upholstered by Alcantara and broadcasted by Souvenirs from Earth.
The opening night will be very "rolled". It will take place on 3rd november from 9 p.m. when the old prison's doors will be opened to the public, revealing The Others' protagonists. The party will be promoted by Rolling Stone with their musical contributions and their selection of internation dj sets.
Opening Hours are from 6:00pm - 1:00am, with a performing area available to the exhibitors for launching books and publications, musical and theatrical performances, dj sets, video projections, making Le Nuove a place of encounter for art lovers and a young public.
